Privacy policy

Mint Access is a Shopify app made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it, who processes it, and how it's deleted.
The short version
- We ask Shopify for permission to read your products, read your theme, and update the alt text of your product images. We can't see your orders or customers.
- We don't collect any personal information about your customers.
- When you ask for AI alt text, the product photo and product title are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to generate a description.
- We never sell or share your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
- After you uninstall, everything we hold about your store is deleted.
What we collect and why

If your storefront is password protected, the storefront password you enter is used for that single scan and is never stored.
AI alt text and Cloudflare Workers AI
When you click to suggest alt text, we download a resized copy of the product photo from Shopify's CDN and send it, together with the product title, to Cloudflare Workers AI, which runs an open image understanding model (Meta Llama 4 Scout) on Cloudflare's network and returns a short description. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf to provide the service. Product photos are not stored by us after the suggestion is generated. Suggestions are only saved to your products when you approve them.
Customer data
The app doesn't access or store personal information about your customers. We still respond to Shopify's customer data request and deletion webhooks as required; there is nothing for us to return or delete.
Where data is stored and who processes it
The app runs on Cloudflare (hosting, database and Workers AI) and connects to Shopify's APIs. Data is encrypted in transit. We don't use any other third-party services, analytics, or trackers, and this website sets no cookies.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while the app is installed (scan history is limited to your most recent 60 scans). When you uninstall, your access token is deleted immediately and weekly scans stop. Shopify then asks us to erase your store's data 48 hours later, at which point all scan results, alt text suggestions, your statement and usage counts are permanently deleted. You can also email us to request deletion at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about your store. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
